Has ITVNC actually managed to speak to Adrian Britton or Philip Reay-Smith yet?

Well.. I think it's more a case of that they didn't opt out, than anything. Seemed a bit of an odd thing to have mentioned at the TOTH, though.

Someone seems to have handed Martin Stanford a script now, though.

At least ITV1 cannot be accused of dumbing down by moving from CLI to a celebrity trial!!! Wink

It *will* be quite funny if ITV1 are still with Celebrity Love Island when this comes through..
We're dealing with a different kind of celebrity love here Wink

Surely the ITVNC wont carry the 10.30pm ITV1 bulletin at a time like this!? Obviously ITV1 will cover the story, but I doubt if they will actually stream the full audio of the verdict. If the ITVNC dont fully cover this, Im sure this will damage their reputation as a credible news channel!

I bet this is a nightmare for the Ten O'Clock News, they don't know when the verdict will be made yet can't move on to any other stories!

I was just thinking that. I know they'll accept the unpredictable nature of news, but if I was a journalist that spent a fair bit of the day working on a report for the Ten for it to get shelved for a static shot of the courthouse, I'd be less than impressed.

Plus, the digital/analogue balance must be tough for the Ten too. Do they go on to the other stories for the 'regulars' who don't have N24? Arg. tough call.

I get the impression that they'll have at least a couple of minutes' warning before it's actually read, you'd have thought the Ten would be better moving on and coming back to the story later - rather than padding, and chucking all their other stories out the window. After all, they're not adding anything that News 24's not.
