Interesting...

I suppose it's a totally different animal to Hutton and Soham, but I assume we'll see the same kind of techniques used?

It's interesting...the Michael Jackson case is going to be "showbiz" but is also a massive celebrity court case - probably not seen on the scale since O J Simpson.

Although, how come the proceedings are being held in private. The U.S. are a lot more liberal on showing court footage - one can only assume that Jackson's legal team has blocked it (Don't Court TV have to buy the rights or something?)

I'm amazed at this. I'd be surprised if the Hutton reconstructions registered an audience...after every news show had led on the latest developments, implications and analysis, watching a word-for-word reconstruction was just too much, and strangely rather pointless.

I don't think this would have got the go-ahead without E!- and the link there (to a showbiz entertainment network) makes it sound like we will get a sensationalised version.

A programme co-broadcast on Sky News and Sky One can never be good news for the credibility of Sky News....I believe the last such large tie-up was the Rebecca Loos debacle with Kay "melodrama-with-glamour" Burley.

It's going to be an interesting case from the media perspective- it''s going to get massive publicitiy across the board for the first few days, then we'll see News 24 reducing coverage massively, whilst Sky and ITV will pursue it. But how you can sustain months of interest in a case you can't broadcast is questionable.

It'll be interesting to see who they get to play Michael Jackson. I can't think of any actors who might be suitable, although I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the casting auditions.

Avid Merrion would be fanastic though!

Or Jackie Stallone, she may not be an actress but with her face, she'd be ideal. Though her voice is at the wrong end of the frequency spectrum.

The trails are going out on all ITV channels. I saw one on ITV1 last night.
