I've just switched over to BBC World and they have now broken away from the simulcast and are airing World News America. Matt Frei is in Islamabad and they're not covering Michael Jackson! What an odd editorial decision.

I wonder if WNA will broadcast as usual on the News Channel?

Yes, considerate of Jackson... ahem. Sorry.
Timed well for the evening bulletins in the US.

Not surprising...
The constant denyals of his health decline
The concerts being his "last" appearences
Still his tortured existence is now at peace, any of his possible victims if they exist can get some closure, and hopefully his father can now feel some of the misery Michael felt growing up.

Yes, nice that they reacted.
I was hoping that Sky would be showing CBS as scheduled at 12.30am, but I doubt it will happen tonight.
This Week just ended with comment from T4's Marquita Oliver and then music from the 'rock legend' Michael Jackson.

I had NBC Nightly News on CNBC earlier and they just ended and had commericals as usual, but opened and finished with Jackson.
Timed well for the evening bulletins in the US. I wonder if they extended past their scheduled 7pm end, or whether they had to leave it in the hands of the affiliates.

Highly unlikely they will tonight, but they don't seem to show it regularly anyway - especially on days when a story breaks where it would be good to see it from a US perspective.
Anyway, absolutely unconfirmed but reports from New Zealand actor Jeff Goldblum has also died today in an accident on set.

(though now reported Harrison Ford has already died, so buckets of salt required!)

It had a short holding graphic saying CNN continues on Sky etc. and returns on Freeview tomorrow, before crashing into the SuperCasino graphics and their random cheery presenter happily welcoming CNN viewers to SuperCasino.
Not the topic for this thread, but this sort of content shouldn't really be allowed on the news channels IMO.
The limitations of Freeview are shown by CNN handing their channel to Live Roulette at midnight. I dread to think how that handover went, as CNN presumably wouldn't be allowing the usual advertising gaps.
