I wouldn't say it's a death which particularly shocks me - his health has never been in any great state, and there were a lot of questions about his ability to cope with the forthcoming O2 residency.
From a non-human, media point of view I'm glad it happened rather quickly, rather than him being in the hospital with the media camped outside for days waiting for him to die.
It'll be interesting to see what tributes are shown over the weekend.
