Sky reporting, through TMZ website, that Michael Jackson has died.

EDIT: Sky now reporting this through Reuters as well.

Shocking news. Reports started to emerge shortly after 10pm that he had been rushed to an LA hospital with cardiac arrest.

Obviously the media reaction to this will be huge.

BBC News are reporting the same as 'unconfirmed reports'.

CNN still just say he is in hospital.

Sky making the point that none of this is confirmed.

However the line from Reuters makes it slightly more believable.

Such sad news (if true of course). I'm truly upset especially with the suddenness of the story.

I hate to mention the media aspect at this time but this is obviously a HUGE story.

Saw this come through on Twitter... I thought it was another wind up.

So many privacy laws in the US which won't confirm or unconfirm... Sky News are trying their best.

TMZ are renowned for breaking this sort of story first, so it's not surprising that the news organisations are taking the rumours seriously.

It's odd that none of his entourage have made a statement denying that he has died; but then again, if I was seriously ill in hospital I doubt I would necessarily be concerned about premature reports of my death.

Fox News says "Michael Jackson Rushed To UCLA Medical Center" with CNN saying "Michael Jackson Hospitalised". Although it's rumoured that he's dead, I reckon any official line will be announced in the next hour or so.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sky rushed to proclaim him dead but BBC???

Don't know to be honest. BBC News Channel is currently on the phone to Uri Geller, he says that he only knows what the news channels/agencies know. According to the BBC, the Los Angeles Times has said that he's in a coma. It's just a case of rumours at the moment.
