I don't know whether there are any other fans of The McLaughlin Group on here. It's been a weekend staple on CNBC Europe for years. Any way it disappeared from their schedule 2 or 3 weeks ago and I have just found out why from CNBC Europe themselves.

It seems the programme was formerly affiliated with NBC and was broadcast from the Washington studios used by NBC News. However it seems that John McLauglin has now affiliated the programme with CBS and it is broadcast now from a Washington studio used by CBS. CNBC Europe say they have lost rights to the show.

A great shame in my view.

Yes, the programme aired on NBC affiliates and a commercial free version with an additional topic added for PBS stations. The programme was produced at WRC-TV in Washington.

Now the show is produced at CBS affiliate WUSA in Washington, with financial assistance from Chicago affiliate WTTW. As far as I know, they still produce a commercial free version for PBS stations.

The McLaughlin Group is available as a podcast, but it does update quite late, after the show has aired across all affiliates.

The whole "Issue One!" way he presents the programme is quite scary at first. Very formal for a TV discussion show.

Just a quick clarification: WTTW is a PBS station in Chicago, not a CBS affiliate.
