Maxine Mawhinney is a second-rater no doubt about it. If she's presenting the Ten then it only confirms to me what a oad of rubbish the management of BBC News is.
What about........ Mon-Thu One O'Clock News Jake Lynch Fri Emily Maitlis (Something to put you to sleep early in the day)
Six O'Clock News Mon-Fri Natasha Kaplinsky And Stephen Cole (Imagine that they would be preening themselves and trying to battle over who gets most camera time)
Ten O'Clock News Mon-Fri Phillip Hayton And Nick Witchell (Arguing that they dont like each other)
Every bulletin presented by Matthew Amrolypoly and Liz PIKE
Maxine Mawhinney is a second-rater no doubt about it. If she's presenting the Ten then it only confirms to me what a oad of rubbish the management of BBC News is.
Why is she 'second-rate'?
I've always liked Maxine Mawhinney. I remember she used to present Saturday and Sunday mornings on BBC News 24 several years ago, before being moved to the weekday afternoon shift. I think it will be a pleasant change to see someone else presenting the main bulletin for a change, and I see no reason as to why Maxine can't be given a shot at it. It's not as if she is an incapable presenter, is it? She wouldn't have been given a high profile position on N24 if she was no good.
But remember you can't always trust the Radio Times and who is down to present often changes
It's going to be you, isn't it
If it is can you credit the TV Forumers?!
As for Maxine Mawhinney, I think she is all right and deserves a chance to do the Ten though I always think of Maxine as an afternoon presenter, probably because of her N24 shift.
Hasn't Kate Silverton presented the Ten before?
