it could be his time off. like caroline hawly (i think thats how you spell it) seems to be away from baghdad, like time off, so it must be like that. It would be different for people like Matt Frei who lives in Washington with family, while Matthew and Caroline don't.

Matthew is too busy answering fan letters and doesn't have time to broadcast live. It all happened after this thread was started.

Although, it's probably because Lyse is down there now.

AFAIK Matthew is staff. One of the Middle East Reporters/Correspondents.

They had to shuffle the correspondents around for the funeral, because Paul Wood, who's usually based in Cairo, is currently with US marines in Fallujah.
