I find this very odd when there is a full normal week of work and school for many that things are closing down so early for Christmas.

Schools break-up in London on Wednesday, which allows them to go back either on the 2nd or 3rd Jan.

With an early Easter in March, Schools have to squeeze in as many days as possible, plus half term, alas the half week next week to get the two weeks of Christmas break in.

They don’t have to. Many schools have a 2 week “Spring Break” at a fixed time every year with the Easter weekend not necessarily at the middle of it. Some schools start back after Christmas on 2nd January whilst others wait until the 8th
