Steve Scott with the 12.05 ITV News Special.

Interesting that each of the three specials has heavily emphasised that it's a News Channel simulcast, rather than a network news production - I should think that it's politically convenient for ITN To play on this aspect just at the moment.

You PVR the ITV News channel at night? Christ almighty, you must have absolutely no life.

Rolling Eyes Laughing I should have expected a smart-arse comment.

Actually, it was running on that from when I was last watching any TV yesterday morning, so when I woke up and heard the news, I just rewound through the cache to see how the story broke.

(anyway, as I have DTT, all I would get if I recorded it overnight is a blank screen Very Happy )

I for one appreciate that you, and others, record these news channels so when there is yet another thread stating that ITV News didn't report something (but Sky and BBC did) I am glad that you have evidence that ITV News isn't as bad as people on this forum would like everyone else to believe.

I didn't know about this story until 11am this morning where I was flicking around the news channels - sky news seemed to have a split screen for a whole hour showing the same 2 shots throughout and people talking over these same two shots. BBC News 24 was much more varied and watchable than Sky with some live location reporting and more varied shots. ITV News Channel was similar to BBC but they still opted to take some advert breaks.

ITV News Channel now simulcast on ITV1 - so far so good.

I left my North London home to go to my parents for the weekend in Berkshire, and even here I certainly heard and felt the explosions, and can visbly see thick smoke from where I am. God know's what it's like in the Highgate area.

Joyous news, though I'm pleased to say I didn't report him either. Unlike Mr Prout himself, I'm quite capable of standing my ground and marking a coherent and eloquent case without resorting to petty attacks or pointing the finger and telling the teacher.

The sat image they've shown on BBC and Sky really shows how wide spread the smoke is..

Apparently I was the only person in London to sleep thru it, I was only woken by someone calling to ask if I was woken by the noise...

Just hope and pray Rev Dublya isn't watching Fox, then.

He'll mix us up with Kuwait, think Franceland's invading us and the next thing we'll all be doing is ducking away from the friendly fire.

N24 was doing that from quite early on with Dan Corbett discussing the weather conditions. Once the satellite image became available, he also discussed how weather conditions would impact upon the cloud, and also on how the weather helped the massive bang of the explosion to be heard so far away.
