Not mentioned yet ,Beverly Thompson of BBC South East , how she got there in the first place I dont know.

Theresa Driscoll has to watch out, talk about blonde ambition ! theres a few young ladies at Spotlight who want her job.

Malia seems safe, she'd marry her boss to save her job. Confused

Gordon Burns does a very good impression of a dead man reading the news, i'd like to see him replaced. Smile

Bev was part of the Launch Team at South East Today in September 2001. She was Health Correspondent.

Then the ratings were flagging their decided to go double headed programme with Laurie and her but I don't think we ever saw them together...

Get rid of Ackroyd I say. I still think it's scandalous the amount of licence payers' money the BBC spent poaching Her Royal Orangeness from Calendar purely in the name of chasing ratings.

I think the idea of having no ' set ' presenters on the main news programmes is a better idea. There is less chance of competitiveness and the risk of someone losing their job.

This is the case on Reporting Scotland, you may see Jackie and David as the main presenters, but the two Sally's, Gillian Millar, David Henderson, Fiona Henderson and Abeer Mcintyre are all on the main programme, and more or less every week, ie. the pairings rotate between that pool of presenters, some nights we have two of the women etc. And all of these presenters may do the short bulletins too.

That can be good but also they cannot identify a fave with their region like with others, how many others have jumped ship to the beeb or come from famous backgrounds of tv history
Gordon Burns NWT: still there 8 years now
Nick Owen Midlands Today: quite a few years too
Anne Davies EMT about 4 or 5 years i would think

I put my money on Gordon Burns to go next. I think, although he can be good and certainly used to be very good, he is now becoming rather dour and boring to listen to.
