It has been nearly four years since ITV's revamp, so it wouldn't be surprising to me either (the last three new looks before the current one launched in 2004, 2006, and 2009, so the 2013 look has already outlasted them). However, it would cause UTV Live to get two relaunches in the space of three months. If ITV News was getting a new look, you'd think it would've launched there early, like the 2006 ITV logo did when ITV4 launched two months before the rebrand in November 2005.

No, I think you've imagined it. The look is 4 years old in January but still feels like it has at least a couple of years left in it, though I wouldn't be against a News at Ten style evolution for the Evening News.

I am sure when ITV rebranded in January 2013 which included the entire channel as well as news it was stated it would be for Five Years. I am sure that was posted on here within weeks of the rebrand if not days.

We may get some tweaks then a new look in 2018 but they may decide to keep it as it is.

Yes, the current branding and set really doesn't feel dated or tired at all - hope it sticks around for a good while longer still.

Shame to lose Mark but it's totally the right decision to have Mary become sole host of the Evening News. Would be a nice throwback to 1990s ITN if they reintroduced double-headed presentation to the Lunchtime News... highly unlikely I know! Smile

Highly unlikely but about the only way Alastair Stewart would get a daily role now.

I agree with the remarks about the current branding being very nice as it is - as mentioned already though an evolution in which the tiles in the titles became 3D, ala News at 10 and the election coverage wouldn't be unwelcome.

The only change I'd make to the branding is to make it bluer rather than tealy green. NAT looks better than the other bulletins on this basis.

I assume this will be one of those jobs where a refresh is talked about so much people actually think one is likely, and then disappointment when it doesn't come, even though it was all made up anyway. Like a GMB thread.

In these days of cost cutting, I'm surprised it's taken so long for the National News to go single headed on all bulletins... especially as it's ITV. So fair play for ITV keeping programmes dual headed for so long and good luck to them for the future. Though ITV News certainly doesn't sound a happy ship at present...

It's the regional news being co-hosted which makes little sense.

Regional news being dual headed works in the same way as breakfast TV is dual headed. These bulletins are more a mix of hard and soft features.

It makes the gear changes a little smoother to be able to have one presenter do something heavy on their own then go to the other presenter doing a fluffy story.

I think Look North Hull, which is single headed, use the weather in they middle of the programme to buffer the heavy and light stuff.
