Would make a sad end to a sad year if she did die. But she's getting better - they're just keeping Lady T in hospital over night and should go home in the morning.

Brekkie Boy - are you having a go at me? I cry............
Sad to hear that Lady Thatcher is unwell - despite different political allegiances, I think of her as a truly formidable character.
But, what's wrong with Liz Pike? Why exactly do you think of her as awful, Moz?

What's the odds then that as soon as a newsreader appears in black over the next few days we'll get pages of people predicting the announcement of her death.

Don't know about Moz but i'd rather she wouldn't shout at me that Lady T does die.

Damn, still she cant have long left to go...
I'm sure there are those who would say the same about you. How much have you contributed to this country in your life so far, or how much do you plan to contribute in the future?
If we imagined for a moment that you were never born, and we stacked up all the food you've consumed in your life (yes, including the bacon sarnie you're munching on right now!), it could probably keep a desperately poor African village fed and watered for at least a decade.
Think, before you come out with such stupid and insensitive comments.

Oh get a grip.. theres plenty of people up here in the 'industrial north' that won't be shedding too many tears when the time comes...

I think that the illness of such a formidable and important political figure such as Lady Thatcher should attract sympathy from all quarters, regardless of their view of her policies and government.
Despite her failings (and we all have them) she was one of the greatest PMs of the 20th Century. She dragged this country "kicking and screaming" through the world recession of the 1980s, and we came out the other side of it significantly stronger.
I am no great fan of her methods when in government, but I don't think there was any alternative at the time. No doubt once she has gone she will be remembered somewhat differently when people consider the legacy she left.
Ooops.....rant over
