Sky just played the 'gunshot' sound.

Twice... once isn't enough for Kay.

... and now a third.

Does she really feel the need to just re-iterate everything a reporter or correspondent says?

That... ambulance... has... Raoul... Moat... in... it...

Classic reporting there Kay!

Now they're repeating shots of ambulances.... and I know exactly why, so they can try and catch a glimpse of him through the windscreen.

Oh, she's just lapping this up, isn't she? She loves it.

BBC News played theirs earlier, but it was drowned out but the noise of the rain. You could hear the shot and some shouting but nothing that provided any insight into what happened

Sky's didn't seem to have too much interference from the rain but it was very noisy and someone (producer?) was talking right up to the point that we heard the shot.

I don't know what's more exciting... the news or Kay.

Now she's repeating the ambulance driving off.

Just one thing - where is she!

Just has a junction on BBC Two, but no news flash.

Why would you expect a newsflash at this hour?

What has the time got to do with it?

Is it really that important to let people know straight away that 'something has happened since the last time you heard but we don't know exactly what'?

Plus a newsflash on BBC2 would mean interrupting the rolling coverage on BBC News

All in all, the coverage is fairly ridiculous on Sky News. Burley just makes the whole affair a laughing stock. It's difficult to take her seriously.

I keep expecting her to say something like...

"Well Raoul Moat, the good looking gunman is now on his way to hospital in Newcastle. I might send flowers..."

Of course, that way they can clip her saying it and she can claim that she said it first! Rolling Eyes

There will be footage of this released at some point with Kay Burley breaking each part of the story. They did the same with 9/11. Sky News were actually carrying various US networks when the story first broke but there are various clips of Kay Burley 'breaking' the news anyway.

I don't feel this is a newsflash story at all.
