Will all these reporters get overtime?

I've noticed that some journalists just take over press conferences, ego mania.

Journalists who get paid for scoops/exclusives wanting to ask a question before anyone else?

Shocking.

The BBC are missing the press conference now. John Sopel will be turning in his bed! All his hard work for nothing.

But what the press conference said was essentially the same as what was relayed from the written statement by the reporter on the BBC some minutes earlier

Do they even still have someone there and trucks operational? I've not seen shots flagged as 'live' for a while now and all they seem to be doing is running the same night-vision shots with Collette Hume on the phone.

Just has a junction on BBC Two, but no news flash.

I take that back... it seems now there is an active BBC truck as the presser was just played out.

Sky just played the 'gunshot' sound.

However much we love the BBC, I don't think we can pretend it was an editorial decision to miss the press conference. They are simply over stretched with too many outlets when compared to Sky News.

Of course, but a fact is a fact, whether it's on the radio, on the phone on the telly or read out on screen by a damp policeman. If Sky had the statement but decided to wait until it was announced on camera by a copper then that is their editorial decision too

Why would you expect a newsflash at this hour?

Twice... once isn't enough for Kay.

What has the time got to do with it?

The second time was very loud.

BBC News played theirs earlier, but it was drowned out but the noise of the rain. You could hear the shot and some shouting but nothing that provided any insight into what happened
