Kay rewriting the story there again. The police officer Moat shot didn't die.

Sky obviously feel that many people will stay up to watch this (other than us).

Gascoigne's agent, Kenny Shepherd, said: "He's doing what? I am sitting having an evening meal in Majorca. I'm speechless." Shocked

Wonder will Burley somehow incorporate her interview with Gazza into tonights events?

I'm surprised Burley isn't calling Moat, Moaty or some other nickname.

This just gets more and more ridiculous and Is one of the worst cases of the media feeding a story we've seen in recent times. From the reports here it seems the BBC sunk to new depths tonight too.

Professional comment there from Sky on Gazza : "He'd had a few drinks by the sound of him..."

Bordering on slanderous? Gazza's not exactly the most cogent at the best of times. As a recovering addict/alcoholic, surely he deserves a little more sublety than that?

What would you like the two biggest TV news organisations in the country to do when confronted with the unusual and dramatic situation of a lone gunman on the loose being cornered in dramatic circumstances? Ignore it and hope it goes away?

Do you still believe this should only have been covered on regional news?

How easy would it be for Sky and the BBC to stay with this situation until it ends? I am thinking about camera batteries, toilet breaks and just finding something to say. I bet GMTV are hoping it lasts until at least 6am.

EDIT:The BBC now seem to have ended live coverage from Rothbury. When did they finish?

Good point, I guess even GMTV wouldn't want it to last until 6am on Monday.
