Outside source on the news channel, as said. I don't think that's the best set up for breaking news IMO. Surely they could have stayed in world's studio.

I've never seen it before. I know this is a horrible story, but from a presentational aspect it's interesting.

Its times like this that NBC misses the old Today show studio . . . the backdrop of the sofa and the 'studio apartment' is perhaps not the best look for a major breaking news operation.
I wonder if there's a reason why they can't fire up the Nightly News studio for these circumstances. I'm sure MSNBC have enough spare studios.
Also, I have to say its rather interesting to watch and listen to the RT coverage of this story.
They can rotate the desk and have the old, street background but they chose not to.

NC simulcasting Outside Source from the balcony. Has this happened before? News at Six still taking place but on BBC One only.
Just a note about the proposed changes - I don't think it would work well to have single headed presentation all day long. I doubt other presenters will be in the building if they are loosing 5 presenter posts.

Not sure .. The format of Outside Source enables them to show images/video/quotes from twitter that hasn't been verified enabling more comprehensive coverage.

I missed the 5pm opening of 5 News at 5, but by at least 5:02pm they were focusing on the Breaking News and I think they covered that and the rest of the news really well.
5 news Tonight has Peter Lane in the studio, along with guests. Good coverage so far.
