BBC World is up till now still discarding their business slot to give attention to the story. AJE seems to be more focused on the Middle East developments.

Excellent report by Bridget Kendall at the top of the Ten. Proves how structured flagship bulletins are still needed in a time of 24 hour news. Of course bits and pieces is the very nature of breaking news, but how she managed to bring together the signficance of everything so concisely impressed me.

Yes, it was excellent, and contained interviews and other material, I'd not seen during the previous 3-4 hours on BBC News Ch. Why is that ?

It will have had its own producer who will have been working specifically on that report sourcing stuff and keeping across outlets that the News Channel journalists may not have have been. Once you have some material for a 24 hour news channel, you often keep repeating it to free up production staff to set-up interviews to fill the air time...

BBC News Channel taking World News instead of the News at One and staying with BBC World News for the hour.
Here's the start to the 8pm hour on the BBC News Channel yesterday.

She looks pretty tired talking to Yalda just a little while ago. It is about 9.50pm in KL, and she would have started presenting Newsday earlier at 6 a.m. SG/KL time, with the sudden break of that news.

This is just a bit ridiculous...
BBCNC is carrying the Australian UN Ambassador speech, while BBCWN is showing their Culture interstitial.

Brilliant coverage yet again from Five news. Emma is doing a great job anchoring, as usual.

Very slick opening, spent most of the first half to the main story but plenty of other news and crosses.

Matt joining Emma, is that new, I saw that yesterday and its good promotion for later. Plus no fluff story!

Matt joins Emma before the end of every show to discuss what's coming up on 'five news tonight'
