She was knighted for services to broadcasting in the rain and she received a rosette from the Queen. However, what they didn't say was that it wasn't the real Queen but a man dressed up to look like her. I spotted this straight away as I was watching on BBC One HD, people watching on the BBC News Channel may have been left with the impression that Tess Daly had actually been made a Dame.
Would Vernon Kay automatically receive a title too due to being married to Daly?
We've now cut away from the coverage to return to normal programming on BBC World News. A voiced closure to the proceedings was given by the duty newscaster who, if my ears didn't deceive me, was Kasia Madera.
Eamonn Holmes showed his wet back earlier. He didn't know how wet it was but he turned his back to the camera and revealed to viewers and his fellow presenters that it was indeed quite wet. It wasn't revealed if this was caused by the rain or if he is just a fat man who sweats a lot. Probably a bit of both if truth be known.
Eamonn Holmes rather funnily loosing the will to live on Sky News at the moment.
'I wish the boats would speed up, the canope above us may not last until 6 o'clock' lol!
It is funny to see him doing long events. I wonder if its in his contract just for Sky News - can they move him around like they do with other presenters for example?
Been dipping in and out of the coverage on the BBC today. I never understood the point of having Huw at Buckingham Palace, or at all if I'm honest. We saw him for a bit at the start and a bit at the end and that was it, kind of seemed a bit pointless. Only other irritants were naturally Fearne Cotton & Tess Daily, both with ego's bigger than Tower Bridge and not really suitable presenters for this type of occasion. Also didn't really understand why they thought many people would be interested in people painting on the Millennium Bridge, though I suppose it filled some air time.
