I loved that 'all together now' promo before the boat thing, is that new or have I just not been concentrating?

It was launched just yesterday, and I think it has been discussed somewhere -maybe in this thread.

We're seeing a real mixture of reporters now - John Sergeant and Anneka Rice. Now John Barrowman - very strange choice, but seems to be fine and embodying the energy of today!!

I have to wonder what purpose Huw Edwards being at Buck House served in proceedings - couldn't Sophie and Matt have handled the whole lot from their lookalike studio?

Can't help but think the BBC are using Matt Baker & Sophie Raworth to try and copy the ITV pairing of Philip & Julie. It isn't really working but they're doing a good enough job.

Was thinking the same. Matt is handling it very well indeed, considering he's not the usual stock BBC News presenter. He deserves credit for getting a gig like this today. Give it time this afternoon, but it is the BBC, so it will be more sedate and conservative in its approach, not ITV's lighter approach.

They're looking pretty cosy on that sofa!

Now Angelica Bell & Tess Daly, it's like a whos who of random presenters.

Its all a bit disjointed really. Would rather they just stuck with live shots of the river rather than the awkward studio coverage or random babies in a hospital!

The Beebs coverage has not been to my taste so far. All very random.

It premiered yesterday before The Voice UK.

1, 2, 3, 4, can I have a little more?

Wish they would just show the boats, we don't need to see the presenters in shot.

Couldn't it be because BBC Entertainment are producing it, rather than it being a BBC News production? I can't help but think that maybe they could and should have used just simple BBC News reporters on the route. However, I don't blame the BBC wanting to add a sense of 'showbiz' to the output...!

Could have been worse, they could have asked Ortis Deley to cover it! Wink

I like the pairing of Sophie Raworth and Matt Baker on the BBC coverage.

Enjoying CNNI's coverage with Richard Quest, Max Foster, Becky Anderson, Zain Verjee. Sadly Piers Morgan will take over later on for CNN US & CNNI joint coverage together with domestic newbie presenter Brooke Baldwin. Rolling Eyes
