Coming up on BBC1 and the News Channel at 1.05 : a special News at One with Maxine Mawhinney in the studio and Simon McCoy on the Thames at the Jubilee paegent.
I've enjoyed the NC's coverage this morning. Simon McCoy on top form, Philippa Thomas stopping a 3 year old from grabbing her mic and interviewing republican protesters and weather presenter Susan Powell wearing a Union flag hat.
According to Twitter Kay asked two kids if they were brother and sister to which they replied that they were actually brothers.
In fairness to Kay I think what she was trying to ask was if they were related to the two sisters standing next to them who she had just talked to.
I guess people will look for any excuse to dig at Kay. If anyone is not watching Sky News, Eamonn is the main presenter alongside Sarah Hewson. Kay is merely a reporter today.
Susan Powell sporting a rather nice Union Jack hat for the 1pm weather on the news channel.
One of the best weather presenters in terms of both clarity and personality...but rarely on our screens.

The Queen's Diamond Jubliee Paegant being shown throughout the afternoon on the BBC News Channel and BBC One, presented by Huw Edwards, Sophie Raworth and Matt Baker. 15 seconds in and Huw is already looking away from the camera!

What are they doing on BBC World News today?
BBC World News are simulcasting at the moment with BBC One and BBC News Channel.
Can't help but think the BBC are using Matt Baker & Sophie Raworth to try and copy the ITV pairing of Philip & Julie. It isn't really working but they're doing a good enough job.

Was thinking the same. Matt is handling it very well indeed, considering he's not the usual stock BBC News presenter. He deserves credit for getting a gig like this today. Give it time this afternoon, but it is the BBC, so it will be more sedate and conservative in its approach, not ITV's lighter approach.
