I would imagine they just send it to them once all the edits are complete rather than having to organise a live feed.
I was surprised to see the Queen's message shown on Channel 4 too. Seems an odd thing for them to show.
How did other channels show it? Was it being fed in from ITN as if it were live? Channel 4 seemed to be slightly behind the other channels.

Just FYI, I just watched the evening news on the Slovenian PSB and the story was covered with a report, but it was the last item in the half-hour newscast, a slot normally reserved for human interest stories rather than hard news. More consequential world news stories were covered earlier in the broadcast. I think this was an appropriate editorial decision and a reflection on how most of the world perceives this story.

The reason, Jon is that WW Update seems to have no grip on reality. He honestly thinks that the Jubilee should be the 'And Finally' item on the national news, even though it is of national importance. Then when people point this out to him he feels the need to post 'FYI I have been watching ___INSERT NON UK CHANNEL HERE____ and they had the Jubilee as the light item.'

At no point did I talk about UK national news. I was specifically referring to international news channels, which I felt were over-covering this story at the expense of hard news. (As did Jon Stewart, for instance). That's why I felt that my mention of the Slovenian PSB, as an example of global news priorities, was relevant.

That was somewhat of an anti-climax - little more than a 30 second thanks to the organisers of the events padded out with news footage before and after which frankly could have been done in a press release.
Anyhow, ITV Granada had special non-regional specific titles (other than the programme name) with historic images of the Queen. Were these titles rolled out nationwide?

Did you expect more from the Queen's message though other than what was actually said? They could've done a press release but it looks more personal coming directly from her and the public will believe it more.

Yes. Given that there was only one video edit in it, they could have got a professional in to do it properly, rather than the amateur hash-up, probably done by whichever spare body they found in a corridor working over the holiday weekend. Why the hell do they give material like that to ITN when there was probably a real editor on duty over at the BBC?

Well, what a weekend it's been... although I'm going to feel beaten red white and blue by the time i'm back at work tomorrow! Much like the BBC who's coverage has been abysmal - even the ending of the concert last night they decided to play out the credits before the fireworks had actually finished! Dodgy direction.. terrible presenting.. the list goes on. That said, the concert wasn't their worst moment by far.
ITV has had the right idea - Phillip and Julie work well together, you've got the backing of the ITN news team who I have to say have shown true professionalism throughout and yes, I include Mark Austin swamped in that crowd... hilarious! Had a real 'family feel' about it. Also some wonderful conclusions and montages of the day (I do love a good montage!).
Didn't see much of Sky News and I'm especially disappointed I didn't see The Kay Burley Redemption last night.. sounded from here like (despite getting her genders confused) she really went for it!
So then, who's here for the Platinum Jubilee in 10 years? Will she still be about or can we expect "And now for the hologram of Her Majesty The Queen... " "David Starkey's with me.. "What a marvellous astonishing reincarnation of our previous monarch! *floods of tears* "
