I wish ITV were doing the boat pageant on Sunday as well.
I hadn't realised they would't be - they're rather well-placed to cover it!

In a curious twist of fate, I'll be watching it from their staff restaurant's roof terrace.

ITV will be covering the river pageant - they just haven't bought into the official coverage being offered by BBC Events (whereas Sky has).

The camera positions and access may not be quite as good as those being offered by the BBC but I think ITV's presentation with Phillip and Julie will more than make up for this. Here's hoping anyway.

By the way, helicopter pictures are being shared between all 3 broadcasters on the day.

I am, watching the Sky News coverage, currently being led by Colin Brazier at Buckingham Palace. The weather looks a bit chilly. Pity.

However, Colin Brazier is quite good on location, I feel.

Lorna Dunkley in full races regalia is at Epsom.

I flicked over from BBC World just to take a peek. It's times like this when overseas viewers get really nostalgic and eager for all things Royal! Alas, World has been fairly tame in it's coverage so far. Not surprisingly, however. A bit more news around today!

Mishal Husain announced that she will be anchoring from a barge tomorrow.

I was very impressed with Colin Brazier this morning. I'm not usually a fan, but I thought he did a good job in anchoring on location. As for the editorial decision to focus excessively on the jubilee (I realise not a popular thing to say in this thread!) Sky left a lot to be desired this morning.

Covering it in the news, i think the original post mat have meant ITV not covering it live. They do have tennis all day.

Ah ... I see. You're absolutely right.

But ITN is mounting a major OB operation for this event, which is being mixed in the London Tonight gallery and fed out live from BT Tower. I guess it must be for partners or clients or something if it's not being picked up by the network?

Sky's Andrew Wilson will be on a boat as part of the pageant too.

She might be used as the anchor.

BBC Parliament have been running some Jubilee related material as well:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv/bbc_parliament/20120602 (6:15pm onwards)

They've also been using a different style from the usual for the "coming up" boards, but well in fitting with a diamond Jubilee theme.

Unfortunately the 1977 Silver Jubilee broadcast suffers from cropping, but on the bright side it appears to be a clean transmission (audio wise, no commentary) with modern captions added. I presume somebody would have commentated over the footage on original broadcast?

Think I counted six lives on the 9.00 headlines - Simon McCoy at Hammersmith, Robert Hall on the River Thames, Mike Sargeant in Putney, Phillipa Thomas at Tower Bridge, Jenny Hill in Yorkshire and someone else in Anglesey. Is that a record?! Shocked
