They did actually do quite a bit on Sunday. Not rolling like the other channels, but they had a reporter who they went to every half hour or so for a section. I actually thought for NEWS coverage they did very well. They were debating issues to do with monarchy and trying to give an overall picture instead of getting caught up in hours of boats.

Yes, it's an interesting event and things like tonight and the regatta look good on telly... but it's not really an Al Jazeera type story.

I didn't check, what was CNN doing about the concert?

Tremendous images of the show and fireworks courtesy of the BBC, plus great fun on Sky with Kay. Entertaining evening all round.

Just wondered why when Huw Edwards had his nice studio, are all of the other BBC journalists not using it?

Like on the news last night Sian Williams was outside at the top of the crowds and now on BBC World paper review they are in the same place. It just seems a bit of a waste of money to me if only Huw Edwards has used it for very short periods of time.

Not sure but maybe something to do with it being BBC Events studio and not BBC News studio??

That makes sense, I just think of Huw Edwards as being news and so didn't assume that the studio was for anything else.

Er... was it just my dodgy signal or was there dead air on ITV Scotland before the Jubilee programme. We got an ITV1 union flag breakbumper, then nothing until the programme started. We're technically in ITV1/GMTV hours, but the programme obvious extends well into STV time.

Not sure what STV were up to but straight after the break it was back to Daybreak for the weather and handover to Phil and Julie. The actual switch to ITN's feed was straight after the break so I'm guessing STV missed it somehow.

'The Daily Show With Jon Stewart' on CNN's coverage of the flotilla

I had no idea about the plane crash in Nigeria.

Her Maj to make an address to the nation tonight - I believe it's going to be prerecorded, and distributed by ITN (in the style of the Christmas message), and aired at 6pm. Looks like it'll fit in nicely in the schedules just before the news on ITV1 and The One Show on BBC One.

Considering its high death toll, it was criminally under-covered by the international news channels, which seemed to be more interested in froth.

The BBC were reporting that it was pre-recorded yesterday afternoon in the Queen's Private Appointments at Buckingham Palace and therefore thought to be after Prince Philip was admitted to hospital.
