... rather than rushing it like he was double parked.

Was that a play on words from one of Jimmy Carr's jokes earlier in the evening Wink

Shame the BBC "spoiled" the fireworks by having Huw talk over both the start and end and then show credits over the best bit.

That was a bit odd, almost as if the satelite link was about to run out. I'd have thought Huw would have ended the coverage in his studio rather than rushing it like he was double parked.

Im sure Huw has been invited to the Queens after party, so he had to go, its not like he was reading the news tonight!

And Kay's last words of this great evening: This is the end of our coverage, hope you enjoyed it, thank you for beeing with us here on skynews."

You make it sound as though she has just given the "I have a dream" speech.

Have to say the BBC's coverage from 7:35 onwards was incredible. Tonight we didn't have any voiceovers or unnecessary interjections, the events were let do the talking. Some of the shots were incredible. They utilised the chopper/blimp to perfection and some of the shots produced were astounding. I feel though that using Huw was just unnecessary. He's a bit like David Blaine in that box. Hes away from the action and you see him for a minute each day. I don't know why the one show couldn't have introduced the coverage. Anyway it was only a minor blip.

On the other hand I thoroughly enjoyed Kay on Sky news. Pity we couldn't see her like that more often. Im looking forward to Mark Austin taking up Kay's mantle tomorrow!

Yeah, I'm wondering if they've all been watching something else...

It seems AJE took some of the fireworks due to poor soundproofing of their London studio (i.e. they could hear them anyway so decided to show them as well)

Yes, I don't understand why they seem to have been avoiding virtually any mention of the Jubilee.

Their studio is a stones throw* from the back of the Buck Palace garden so even the best soundproofing would struggle with that lot!

*or as the more paranoid would say a missile's throw Laughing

They were live at the regatta yesterday

They did actually do quite a bit on Sunday. Not rolling like the other channels, but they had a reporter who they went to every half hour or so for a section. I actually thought for NEWS coverage they did very well. They were debating issues to do with monarchy and trying to give an overall picture instead of getting caught up in hours of boats.
