The BBC persist in calling The Duchess of Cambridge, "Catherine Middleton". Is that The Duchess' chosen name?

From what I recall, the Palace wants her to be called her full first name, Catherine, now that she's a royal. When she's queen, she can't be Queen Kate, she'll become Queen Catherine. Just the tabloids don't listen.

I thought I was watching an over running The Voice outside special, only to realise it's the Queens Concert. Laughing

Anneka retired from presenting for five years at the end of the 1990's and studied painting at chelsea Art College, Add to that the fact that Canaletto's painting was the inspiration for the whole event the BBC clearly wanted to show how modern day painters were recording the event. I thought it was a good idea but without the background knowledge of Anneka's life her participation did seem a bit random.

It's not her participation that was the odd bit, just the fact that they did it at all. The Canaletto thing had passed me by, it would have been better as a feature at the start.

It felt as out of place as the babies thing.

My point was, shouldn't she be referred to as Duchess? Why does the name Middleton appear at all?

Anyhows: does Cheryl Cole always sound this good?

Are you sure this should be in The Newsroom? You are talking about an entertainment programme being broadcast on BBC One. Maybe you should start a new thread?

She was singing live - and singing completely flat. Shame she ruined her chance to prove she was a decent singer!

Peter Hunt on Twitter has said that the Queen is due to arrive at 9pm, which was the plan even prior to the hospitalisation of Prince Phillip.
