This appears to be quite a major story: at least 45 people were confirmed dead at the last count, and News 24 and CNNi have it as their main story and both have analysts on the phone. EuroNews is the usual embarassment it is - it's now showing something about art and culture with only a breaking ticker (IN LOWER CASE!) providing news of the crash.

I noticed FOX were taking Sky News a little earlier.

Tim Wilcox doing a good job as mentioned in the other thread.

Probably not appropriate but as we are a presentation forum after all, how nice is that. And to think it's basically the same idea as Sky - but looks so much better and appropriate for stories such as this.

I think CNNi took images from CNN+ earlier.

Can't say I agree with News 24 cutting away for a sports update from Beijing. During that useless update, it was confirmed that over 100 died.

Apart from that, BBC have excelled themselves this afternoon.

It now appears there have been 100 people killed in the accident.

Sky News have been pretty good this afternoon.

They carried that news via a strap, and the news from Beijing this afternoon was pretty exceptional too. Plane crashes aren't a new thing, double record breaking gold winning feats are rare.

I have to say, I'd prefer a lowercase ticker on BBC News and Sky News. It's easy to read and doesn't cause problems when it comes to acronyms and initialisms.
