What with that and Branson pledging £100k for the advertising campaign.. how long is this going to go on for without any new major developments?

I though the £100K was for McCann's legal fees. I think Branson is on something. First he comes to the aid of the McCann's (not really wrong) but then sells off Virgin Megastores, which will be renamed Zavvi. He needs to sober up and buy back his record stores. I'll be sad to see the Virgin Megastores brand disappear. That's all I have to say on the subject.

be claiming that the Duke of Edinburgh had a white Fiat Uno sent to tail Marc Bolan's mini and Gloria Jones was planted as a scapegoat?
There surely must be other things going on in the news that DE could put on its front cover. Northern Rock? Foot & Mouth?

For example, three weeks ago the Express was staunchly pro-McCann, using headlines such as 'MADELEINE: MUM'S FURY AT "YOU KILLED HER" SLUR'. However, in more recent editions they have started to be more suspicions of the McCanns.
