Well written piece. Lets hope the Editors at News 24 and Sky read it.

This story only has "public interest" because the new organisations have decreed it. It's a self-perpetuating excuse to report a non-event.

According to the BBC, another advertising campaign is due to be released, including (probably scary) TV adverts.

Last week the McCannCanns wanted reduced coverage. This week they want more.

First they will insist on staying in Portugal, 36 hours later they return home.

Is it just me, or are they **** bi-polar?

I'm surprised we haven't seen the McCanns dining in Hell's Kitchen yet.

Joking aside... I've had the pleasure of listening to a lot of Radio 1 in the last week on my travels. I was incredibly impressed with their Newsbeat programmes - no fawning adoration for the McCanns, or endless speculation - just intelligent comment on what had been reported in the press and emphasis of the fact that most of it is rumour. An excellent programme.

I agree. Many say it is patronising. I don't think so, but that doesn't mean I am stupid. It's highly relevant, and reports news in the right way.

I would expect it to appear before long though... Rolling Eyes

Ah right, I don't go on M'pol so I didn't realise.

Nice that ITV News had some real news at the top of this evening's bulletin. Although was it necessary for camera crews to follow the McCanns to church and wait outside for them-- to what end? I couldn't see what was the purpose of today's report?

Sky earlier stated that the media had been invited to follow the McCann's to church and back, to show that they were getting on with their lives. Or something.

They can't be getting on with their lives if they've got Martin bloody Brunt following their every move.
