These two are pathetic, running away the moment their asses are in danger. What about staying there until they find Maddy? They don't give a damn about her, that's why they lost her or did who knows what to her.

Why are News 24 continuing to stick with these ultra poor videophone connections? First with Praia da Luz and now East Midlands Airport? I know pictures are obviously better than a phone call but surely some sort of standard should be set which doesn't include this kind of quality or it frequently getting stuck - as in the case of the first image below.

I am absolutely sick and tired of seeing these bloody McCanns splashed across every channel I switch on. I woke up this morning and tuned into News 24 for a round-up of what's going on today, and what do they do? Blanket coverage of the McCanns. For goodness sake, the only development is that they're coming home...how does that warrant blanket coverage? I'm sick of them going over and over the same details, same recorded images for hours on end. After 40 excrutiating minutes of waiting for the proper news, I gave up and went to make breakfast. I came back just now, and what do I find? Live coverage of the plane landing. I can't stand this anymore. Thank God for BBC World. Refreshingly, the McCanns are more often than not pushed way down the running order on World, and actual news is the top story.

In fairness they will probably want the support from friends and family at home, along with trying to give their kids a bit of normality - surely they should have started going to school this week?

Have N24 actually bothered to do a roundup of other news during the past couple of hours? Surely they could still do it and *shock horror* should there be any developments, instantly go back?

So Sky/CNN/N24 were all sharing the same camera so I wonder what the other one stuck in the way was for?

And you can't beat a bit of Fox, who were also covering that live...

I wonder if they will be booked in for a Tonight with Trevor MacDonald special

It is getting ridiculous now.

Are we to have breaking news on Sky/News 24 when Kate or Gerry McCann sneeze?

Maybe they will describe in detail how Kate sneezed and she had to reach for a hanky and then they can speak to police experts as well as the MD of kleenex??

Why all this constant coverage.

I know quite well what somebody driving to an airport, boarding a plane and going home looks like.

This is the most absurd abuse of a non-story I have ever seen.

It's all got a bit hot for them there, the Portugese press and public have been against them for a while and the locals want rid of them and the resulting bad publicity. Now the police are on to them too it can't be a place they want to be

Still continuing coverage on Sky & BBC. Nothing new has happened- simply a family of 4 have returned home! Why all the coverage. No other missing child has ever got this much coverage globally

I'm suprised they didn't get the red carpet. I guess for the next cople of days we can expect live coverage og Kate & Gerry going to a local shop for the first time, getting their mail for the first time, driving the rest of their children to pre-school for the first time and many other firsts.
This has turned into The McCanns reality TV show.

I honestly can't believe this. On News 24, we've had practically 5 hours of rolling coverage of a family flying home, and I assume it's been the same on Sky too. I'm yet to hear the rest of the day's domestic news. Ridiculous. At least I've had BBC World to find out what's going on around the globe.
