Same with Gerry really. He's acting more like a marvel super hero than a grieving father.

They were discussing about the case on Larry King Live last night/this morning. I'm surprised the parents weren't on there for a US exclusive. Larry did briefly interview Robert Muir. They had him down as ITN reporter/correspondent. Now offically is it ITN or ITV News that he works for, because when i did my interview with Chris Rogers, i was told we had to refer to him as ITV News'.

ITN is more familiar to the americans due to the old ITN bulletins that used to appear on PBS. i doubt they've heard of ITV

Ah i see, thanks. One of the contributors on Larry King did point out that 70% of young children that are killed, are done so by there parents. Although i dont think in this case they have.

Why's this story in the headlines again? I'm sick to death of it. I'm also sick to death of walking into my local newsagents everyday and seeing Kate McCann's troubled face plastered across almost every single front page. They don't deserve sympathy one single bit.

Interesting to see that one of the British Television News organisation's website actually makes quite a blatant statement that it is", and I quote " now three months since Madeleine disappeared, after her parents left her sleeping alone in an apartment whilst they ate at a nearby restaurant ." Unquote

Whilst this statement is entirely factual, it has never yet been so blatantly narrated by any of the UK TV News organisations thus far.

This particular news organisation was, hitherto, possibly considered as one of the media supporters of the McCann family. I hate to say it, and I really do feel for the family no matter what the circumstances, but the media focus will inevitably turn to the errors that THEY (McCann's) made in leaving the children alone in the first place.

I hope they find the girl alive and well.

I love how the Daily Mail have decided that any possible rumour of the mcanns being investigated shows how portugese police are evil liars.

Also how come two days ago the BBC were reporting "the search of the suspects flat has found nothing" but when I popped into Sainsburys for my Taste the Difference Vanilla Bean and Honey Smoothie the Express screamed "MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH"?

Sainsburys still stock them? I LOVED those smoothies. But then they disappeared from my local store.

BBC News are now reporting that...

...several newspapers have printed articles in which unnamed police sources have suggested Madeleine might have died in the family's holiday flat in Praia da Luz on 3 May - the night she disappeared.

So if it transpires that the McCanns were involved, or had alot more knowledge of the incident than they have hitherto revealed, then you will still have sympathy for them after they lead the media circus on a global tour Shocked

I think that this shows how one thing can turn into an ego trip for the parents - if it had been a working-class family living in Peckham the media coverage would have been nowhere near as sensationalised.

Three factors seem to have been making this such a big story: a) the fact that the McCanns are making such a big deal about it. No problem, I say - if I had a daughter who had been abducted, I'd want to publicise the case in the media.

b) the ludicrous attention from the tabloid press. Because the case has been publicised so much, it's become pretty much a free-for-all franchise.

c) the fact that there are some foreigners for the Daily Mail to bash.

The way that the little girl's disappearance has effectively turned into some kind of craze is quite disgusting (quoted from the C4 news presenter)

Technically he works for ITN, as that's a separate company to ITV. While the bulletin carries ITV News branding, he still works for ITN and I would assume that appears on his payslip.

ITN, if I'm right, do still supply some news bulletins to America, so the ITN name would be more familiar than ITV in the States.
