Oh no! Now they've lost a wallet as well as a child:

There are hundreds of wallets lost or stolen everyday. Why is this of any greater importance than any of them? Are we to expect tours of the world appealing for it's safe return?

I've already got my yellow ribbon for the wallet, and we should expect all celebrities and politicians to the same. In fact I'm feel compelled to fly over there to help search for the wallet, because it is the thing to do.
Please foward on the email appeal to find the wallet, because if you don't you are insensitive b**tard. A mock newspaper cover and poster camapign for the wallet wouldn't go amiss either.
See ITV News for the next 40 days for more details, ITV Central East will be covering the wallet situation live everyday from Rothley war memorial

Apparently no-one's actually been reported missing in the area which seems a bit odd - just some kids spotted a man bundling an unhappy child into a car.
It could simply be a parent trying to get his son into the car whilst he was in the middle of a tantrum.
But because Madeleine is now slipping down the running order, lazy journos are clearly hoping this could be the next bandwagon onto which they can jump.

I note there is a possible abduction of a young boy in Worcestershire. If it turns out to be true (and I hope it doesn't) then it will be interesting to see how much media coverage it gets.

From Popbitch:
>> Burying bad news <<
ITV in best possible taste
Last Friday morning's news channels showed hushed
footage of Portuguese police starting to dig
up the area tipped off to be where Madeline
McCann's body was buried.
So it was a nice relief to turn over to ITV's
Jeremy Kyle show to find an episode entitled
"My little girl was butchered to death and
we've never found the body."

Curse of the apostrophe strikes again...this time in a Times article. Shocking.
It's not an apostrophe, it's a very small ribbon of remembrance.

I hope Simple Minds: Don't You (Forget About Me) isn't re-issued (with a new video). It's a great song ruined by that short film.

I assume Team-McCann will be temporarily relocating to Malta now to take advantage of any impromtu hospitality and media attention during this latest search.
After all, Portugal must be getting mundane now. You know what it's like once you've sampled all the restaurants when on holiday - it's time to try somewhere new.
I think T-McG need a holiday, we should all ring up and claim multiple sightings in other exotic holiday locations.
I think their campaign ought to use the Status Quo track "Rockin' All Over The World".
