OK...so if this is true and she's dead...first of all - thank god that's over (and I mean that in the least cynical way possible - the parents can begin the healing process and the tabloid editors of the UK will actually have to start thinking about what they can fill their page space with).
BUT: get ready for:
Two-minute silences on Friday at midday and at every goddamn public occasion for the next two weeks - one minute each for the parents who left her in the room alone
The Madeleine Foundation - A charity fund diverting money away from other missing childrens' groups for other bereaved parents - which will disappear off the radar soon
"What Would Have Been Madeleine's Fifth Birthday"
The Maddy McCann Memorial Garden (in Hyde Park)
The Maddy McCann Memorial Concert (at Wembley)
"My Month Of Hell On Earth" by Kate McCann
and finally, here's a sobering word for the religious loony aspect of the McCanns: the same "god" you worship who gave you Maddy also took her away now. Go figure.

I wouldn't be so sure - we'll have the "Find Maddy's Killer" campaign next. And if it turns out to be true that there is a connection with those two little Belgian girls...well, just be sure to remember them too, because the media and those yellow ribbon-wearing bleating sheep - who seem to have wilfully ignored the fact that there are bad things happening to thousands of children all over the world - sure as hell won't. They'll just be a footnote to "Our Maddy" (TM).

Oh, definitely. I remember having to participate in a two minute silence for the Soham girls. Again, what happened there was very sad, more so because the subsequent investigation showed that it should never have been able to happen (doesn't it always?)...but why should I have been forced to mourn?

Ah, but He does things for a reason, doesn't He? Tests of faith, and all that. But whilst I'm no fan of religion, if appealing to a higher power of a spiritual nature is genuinely a way for them being able to deal with things...then good luck to them.
Breaking news on N24 - a letter was sent to the Dutch newspaper
De Telegraph
(sp?) stating where Madeliene can allegedly be found. The police haven't validated it yet
Surprisingly, BBC World beat News 24 and other broadcasters in breaking this news - Lucy Hockings read details of it at about 2.20pm. I wonder if the BBC has slackened its policy on breaking news without validation?
This is really weird... my broadband has been down for almost a week and last night I had a dream about people posting similar messages to these here....
Pretty much concur with the above 'sadness campaign'
Interesting how this is being soft pedalled by TV, obviously in case it's wrong. I'll be saddened if its correct but if it is we'll never hear the end of it.
De Telegraaf
is the name of the Dutch paper, just looked it up. A broadsheet paper with a circulation of 800,000 and is based in Amsterdam.
Well if you live in the Waltham transmission area tonight, I advise you not to tune into ITV at 18:00. Unless you want to hear the a ten-minute response from the good folk of Rothley, about every minutiae of the scrubland search for Madeleine Last night's top story was that they were starting to clear flowers from the makeshift memorial in the village <"jibbering wreck" emoticon>
whether i want to be or not i am intersted in the outcome of Maddie.
I hope this letter isn't a hoax. It probably is if it came from a psychic. I hope she's found soon dead or alive. So Madeline can rest in peace if dead or the family can get out of my face and get on with rebuilding their lives if she's found alive.
