No it doesn't, it heightens the chance she won't be found alive or with the same identity at least. I only speak for me but I now don't care. Yeah, sounds callous and mean but I have stated how that kid is now good as dead and that to focus on one girl and ignore bigger and more widely damaging stories is stupid. All I can say is it's gone far enough and the only people tagging along is the bleeding hearts moaning about how it's bad not to care about this kid and driving me towards caring less just so it can make people like them notice this has faff all to do with them.

Think what you may, I will not allow you, the media or any other do-gooder to tell me how to think lest I be smote for my straying from the true path of false hope and futile drumbeating for the true leader... er, I mean, cause. It's not a cult, don't you come wag the finger at us for not feeling guilt at something we cannot change or assist with.

That is a matter of opinion as there is the argument that the immense press interest in the story has resulted in the abductor panicing and doing something they perhaps wouldn't have if the story had remained low key and it was only their own concience (sp?) questioning their behaviour.

You do raise quite a good point here, it really annoys me the way media have really started taking on cases like this, take a consensual view on the case, then smear people who disagree with the case as somekind of 'heretic'.

It's a good example of poltical correctness, ironically PC is a thing that many UK papers rail against at every opportunity. Another example of this oppressive cult mentality, is the argument about man-made global warming. Anybody putting foward the 'contarian' argument is witch-hunted by the media, despite some convincing evidence supporting the contrarian view, but people who support it are witch-hunted by the media.

As I said earlier, there can be comparisons drawn with Madeleine and Diana; if you didn't gush with OTT emotion at Diana (a person relatively few people in the UK populace knew intimately), then you were branded as some hearltess b**tard! How I could I grieve for someone I didn't know?

I do hope that Madeleine is found safe and well, but there are other things going on in the world that deserve more attention. Are any of the bleeding-hearts in some quarters of the media getting worked up of the crises in Dafur or Zimbabwe for instance? What about all the other missing kids in the world-- or don't they count? Something to think about anyway.

I grieved for Diana. How I could come to care for a person I didn't know is beyond me. I simply did, and that's that.

This Madeline story has passed its saturation point, and the public will be turned off by the story if they aren't already.

Its wrong to blame the parents for capitalising on the free publicity. I just hope they can cope when the cameras and microphones simply aren't there anymore when they want them to be.

I respect this case and its very unforunate but they have two three live camera shots for a plane taking off to Rome for them in a private jet - WHY on earth waste money on such events? One if any would be sufficant. It's understandable when the captured soilders were coming back but for this.. waste of license fees.. Don't usually doubt the BBC..
