I think that shows just how far the situation has gone that people (including me) took it vaugly seriously for a second. When you think a rolling news network for one story is a plausable idea you know things have spun out of control coverage wise.
I'm quite pleased to know that, fourteen pages on from my original comment, the majority of you are now realising how stupid the whole business has been, right from the start.
Now, I can't watch Sky News, and I haven't watched News 24 for a while, so please tell me, what ridiculousness has happened coverage wise? Is it still non-stop Madeleine?
I know it's got ridiculous but I can't believe people fell for the Madeline News Channel.
I'm surprised though it isn't available on Sky News Active.

I guess what this has shown is that the media control our daily lives. I know everyone knows this, i think, but sitting down today and just realising that the media decide what is popular and whats not, they decide what we are going to be talking about, they decide who is good and who is bad.
True - it also shows once again how out of touch the press actually are with the general public.
It was evident during their outrage at the whole Celebrity Big Brother thing, which most people didn't - and still don't - see the issue with. There was something else recently too though I can't quite recall what!
The problem is the media now seem to be dictating too, rather than reporting for, the general public.
P.S. Off topic, but quite a few of the lower quality papers this week have had their dig at C4 and Big Brother in the fallout of the racism row - yet been quite happy to print pictures of one of the main perpetraitors, Danielle Lloyd, enjoying herself on holiday!

You mean she isn't campaigning 24/7 for Maddy's release by meeting the Dala Lama, Mother Theresea, the Virgin Mary and God?
To be honest the press are giving this case too much hope - it's really upsetting however the press shouldn't constantly be giving them opportunites for more news reports, unfortunate as it may seem, one report for a week for a few months with progress updates would be sufficant and breaking news reports added when necessary. We dont know much more than week one.

That sounds a bit like when the Brass Eye paedophilia show was front page news then on page 3..the (Daily Mail)..printed pics of teen girls in bikinis during that Summer's heatwave.

Suffolk Murders.
No - it was something to do with the Royal family I think earning their own money.
Anyhow, did you know last week there was another bird flu outbreak in the UK, here in North Wales?
