So is this the only region not to have had its face lift yet?? I mean now wales is being done it would seem so, they should so something soon really as it will look bad on them! There is such a waste of studio space and that tv screen now jst look silly and outdated.I personally didn't like Look North ne when i saw it found it v newcastle biased!

I've always liked the Look North set, they have always made good use of all areas - behind the desk, on the desk, and in the soft area. But I do think it needs a new look.

In all remaining 4:3 regions, priority should be given to updating equipment before anything is spent on redecorating studios.
Some of the 4:3 regions are still using using Betacam SP, with tape to tape editing and a Betacart being used for playout! And to worsen matters, all material from these regions is cropped into 14:9; reducing resolution by about 50 lines.
Come on BBC, the year is 2004, not 1989!

I'd be more concerned about the coverage area and the style of the programme.

The Area is way too big - though it does not cover a large population, the news stories in Cumbria are irrelevant to people in Newcastle on the whole - considering that two full ITV regions and also 'Tyne Tees South' during the day cover the area, they need to address this.

The style - this programme is presented in an almost sarcastic tone - the stereotype of a Primary School teacher fits Carol Malia's profile quite well. Sack her please.

The Content - Too many features! The programme is becoming an extension of Inside Out. Report some real news, and save the feature stories for slow news days, not every day...

More stories from the Cities would be good - they try so hard to be unbiased, but the effect isn't quite right. Pleanty of Northumberland and County Durham stories are covered - with little emphasis on Cumbria, North Yorkshire, Border areas and for some strange reason... Tyne and Wear.

Perhaps after that they can think about the set.

and when they run out of stories from newcastle, they start reporting from York!
York isn't even in the "north east", it is in Yorkshire, which is already served by Look North based in Leeds!

Depends where you are in York, some viewers can't get a signal from Emley Moor and so receive from Bilsdale instead, hence LN NE&C covering it.
