Long close from tonight's News at Six.

Just depends on the network... though the BBC could have a COFDM transmitter on the back of the camera uplinked to the chopper hovering above if it's the BBC one.
Good point...any idea who is providing aerial footage?
Was G-UKTV, Arena TV heli. Think it's the Sky News branded one but they're run by the same folk as BBC branded heli.
And flaky 4G links

The building is a stones throw from London Live's base I think ?
It's a 5 minute walk from Derry St.
Surprised they didn't bring the story nearer to them, after all their building is shared with The Daily Mail. I can imagine some of the anger going their way

This story is just going to keep on growing. There now two protests, and the Fire Brigades Union general secretary has also talked to the crowed about cuts to its services etc.

It's going to be a hot weekend, hopefully tensions won't get too heated. The words Kensington and riots aren't normally ones you hear together!

There has just been a complete lack of human empathy from the government. Corbyn, Sadiq Khan and even the Queen have been amongst the victims whilst Theresa May has kept them at arms length and talked to the media about the event in private rooms rather than on the ground amongst the people. Although there is alot of political questions behind the anger, and rightly so, ultimately if this did lead to the fall of an unstable Primeminister it's going to be due to her personal failings rather than her political failings.
Bringing it back to presentation and must say what a great job the broadcast media have done all week. There were quite rightly some questions about the focus on individuals still trapped as the disaster unfolded and I still don't know where I stand on that although it did make the story about the people in the tower rather than the tower itself. I think it's also telling that the media have asked themselves questions - both Mary Nightingale on Tonight (last night) and Jon Snow have mentioned about being confronted about how the media were not there to cover the concerns over fire safety when they were raised and to give them a voice when they needed that voice.

I'm not surprised Theresa May didn't directly meet residents, it wouldn't have gone well, if Boris had still been London mayor it also wouldn't have gone well or indeed if Cameron was still PM. She would have been directly blamed and someone would have shouted some emotive sound bite at her whjch would have resulted in just as much bad press as not turning up at all.
The fact the protests seem to have turned into a left wing protest rather than anything to do with the fire proves this.
Has Lily Allen turned up yet?

London Live seemed prepared earlier, they had a reporter outside Kensington Town Hall (4G was crap, but nothing as bad as Sky) and another with the Central London protest.
