Changes to news output from Monday
The Evening News with Anthony Baxter at 6pm which is a mainstream news bulletin complete with travel and weather with analysis, while The Evening Show from 6.30-7.30 becomes a general entertainment show taking elements of London Go and Not the One Show.
The Headline Interview will be on Monday, Tuesdays and Thursday from 1-2pm.
No changes to Wake Up London and Headline London.

So it's the final Not The One Show tonight, then?
I see from Anthony Baxter's Twitter that he'll be presenting both new programmes: https://twitter.com/anthonysbaxter. I wonder what this means for Louise Scodie?
A positive change introducing a mainstream bulletin - but going head to head with the ITV London News seems virtually pointless and doomed to failure. To have any chance of success, they really need to schedule this at a time when no-one else is doing local news - ie after 7pm.

My guess is they're doing a 'Channel 5' with the news output during the peak and shunting it to 6pm means they can show entertainment earlier.
It does seem odd to do travel news on the evening show considering most won't be home by then. 6pm is probably the least worst time to schedule the bulletin considering BBC London News has the majority of regional news viewers.
Merging NOTS and London Go's formats should improve the output overall as they won't have to shunt in news which the 6pm bulletin provides.

Isn't the thing in London that due to long commutes and long working hours, few are home for traditional regional news at 6pm?
So surely in London even more than anywhere else it makes more sense to air evening news programmes in the 7pm hour?

Though it must be said that programme (as with most ITV regions...sadly) is probably the better of the two mainstream channels to go against...though I still don't see it doing well.
A step in the right direction but it's a shame it's head to head with ITV News London.

Personally I'd shunt the news to 5.30pm and The Evening Show from 6-7pm, which would provide a niche against the BBC/ITV news hours.

That promotion trail was very good. If the actual programmes are anywhere as good, the BBC/ITV could have a fight on their hands.
The idea of a 17:30 programme is good. The only problem is will anyone be home in London to see it?
