They could just affix a few narrow frosted acrylic panels with the London Live logo on them in the windows behind the "anchor table". They could easily be hung from a rail in the windows in the early morning with a couple of multicolour LED lighting bars on the floor underneath or above. I've seen this treatment done several times. Its not very expensive and if done correctly it could really get rid of that black hole look and create visual interest behind the "anchor table," at least when its dark outside. But its clear LL has no interest in their studio based programs.
Citytv Bogota used a unique system to quick change the "sets" for their studio programs. They simply had the backdrops affixed to metal rails and they just rolled them in a out. It was simple and effect. Here is an example from their show Viva Bien. It was part of their female focused morning block. Notice they used frosted panels directly behind the presenter and guest and on the sides they use graphic panels affixed to rails that can quickly be removed very easily. On their music program they used a rail with a screen made of CDs fastened together. Quite effective. You'll also notice they followed Citytv original ethos of the entire building was the studio, so that is why they are shooting in the production offices. Each program shot in different locations throughout the building. So there are desks in the back ground. Im sure with the superior graphic designers in London someone can come up with the something that would look great on tv there.
