The local free alt "edgy" commuter newspaper Chicago RedEye (owned and run by much larger Chicago Tribune) launched a new studio for its RedEye paper. Its small and I think could serve as a model for what London Live could have achieved. Its only used for online content and periodically appears on Tribune owned local 24hr news channel CLTV. Thats how you re-purpose and monetize the content you already own. That is where ESI fell down. They already spend time and money gathering the news/comment/commentary,etc. but didnt figure out a proper strategy on how to make money or re purpose the stories information gathered for Evening Standard. So it left London Live with no real news department.

The Church of Scientology are advertising on London Live. I take it they're NOT on a major recruitment drive?

They've been advertising on More4 as well during "The Good Wife", very odd to see.

They had one during Corrie last year.

I take it Ms Baffoe wrote the travel on the screen as this one doesn't make sense at the end.

The whole way they do the travel news on London Live is really clunky and jarring.

It's never a smooth flowing part of the programme - the presenters always stumble and hesitate so much it is distracting.

Depending on who's presenting - the whole show can be clunky and jarring!

It would be better to hive the travel off to a 3rd party - with sponsorship so it pays for itself. The companies who do radio travel news would be perfect - I don't even think the presenter needs to be in vision - the graphics should be enough.

I find it amazing that 15 months on, London Live still struggle with the basics.

INRIX who used to provide the travel news in-vision for ITV London during GMTV/Daybreak would be perfect.

As shown above, the presenter has a console to change between the traffic cameras in front of a CSO.

Couldn't agree more. If memory serves, that presenter is Helen Austin, who used to do the travel news in Capital, by the way.

It's exactly what's needed.
