A jaw-dropping incident on Radio 2 a few moments ago. Jeremy Vine turned up to trail his show. After a brief recap of the events of the morning, he added, with no hint of deliberate irony, "The media are being asked not to speculate on the cause of this. (
brief pause
) So, joining the dots, it looks like a terrorist attack. (
very brief pause
) But of course we're not saying that."

Thank goodness for that. Work places even in Edinburgh are being told to stay indoors. Very major incident, nationwide.

I guess buses are going to be the only option, but the roads are also heavily congested with emergency vehicles.

As the ENTIRE underground network and all the trains stuck within it will have to be searched for unexploded devices, I would be amazed if any of the system was operational at any point today.
