Does someone just sit in ITN and randomely pic what live bug will be used on ITV news or something? Yesterday we had pics of one ala News 24, today its red with no location, and on the Lunchtime News there is the massive one in the lower left hand corner that includes the four ITV squares. Why cant they standardise the graphics they use? The same can be said for the sloppy use of the many 'exclusive' bugs - its not hard to to!

Damn - Time_Warp just beat me to this! Smile

Sorry about that! But something really needs to be sorted over at Gray's Inn Road...

They've reverted back to that horrible red again...ITV News seem to be on a mission to change their DOG on every OB!
Also worth noting that ITV News is now using "7/7" as their 'brand name' in relation t these bombings, and appear to have dropped "Target London".

see my earlier post.

James, I've looked over the past few pages and I cannot see the post to which you are referring.

Look harder. It was along the lines of:

Anyone, please take the reference to 7/7 out of your signature. It almost gives the attacks a brand name, and while they need to be remembered, writing the full date would be beneficial as it's not nearly as tacky and shows you do care. Thanks.

I saw that, but what's that got to do with ITV News using it?

What, you actually read your own post then?

You're absolutely right, Mr Hall.

"7/7" smacks unpleasantly of the much overused "9/11".

"7 JULY: A DAY OF TURMOIL ". I mean, what the hell is that? Some kind of critique?

Of course there is a tremendous amount of grief about the loss of life and injury last week, but this 'badge wearing' in my view devalues the event.

I'm not intending to offend, but that's my honest opinion.

And this would be the point where I gouge my eyes out of my sockets to avoid re-reading such absolute bullshìt.

nok32uk, you seem to lurch back and forth between contrasting emotions every other second, so it's no suprise that you would put James Hall's post down as rubbish. I however agree entirely and I really wonder about those who feel the need etch numbers such as 7/7 and 9/11 onto profound events such as those of last Thursday.

9/11 has become a pathetic soundbite used by the US government whenever it needs to pass another amendment or such to reduce the liberties of the American people and increase the liberties of the authorities to search and detain at will without solid grounding. I certainly hope that 7/7 does not become the 2005-on equivalent for the UK.

Is this another of your attemps at 'humour' scottishender? Do you actually have a brain to engage before you type? Hmmm, thought not. Please, for the sake of us all, go away! You've contributed NOTHING to this forum in any way, shape or form.

Just caught the tail end of a programme on News 24 which seemed to be discussing the Islamic link to the London bombings and how the Muslim community may be attacked etc.

I didn't recognise the studio. Anyone see it and have any idea where it was and who the presenter was?

It seemed to be focussing on Leeds so was it a regional programme reran on N24?

It was a repeat of the programme from BBC Leeds, a special opt out 20:00-20:30 tonight, presented by Christa Ackroyd in the studio, with Ian White in the newsroom and Len Tingle on location.
