still listening to brmb this evening. on reflection they really have out-done wm in terms of coverage. better punters on the phone, better reporters and far far far far faster at breaking the news. lets hope this makes wm draw up an emergency plan that will allow them to be more than a bloke on a mic watching sky news and taking callers. its at times like this when people turn to local radio.
It Is likely that over the comming weeks we will have many security scares.
Sky News had good coverage even at 4am, when i got home from a night out and 1st found out about it.
I've just seen the Fox News report on the Birmingham security scare...when you say about moronic presenters, you should also talk about moronic corrospondents who know nothing about this country! One correspondent actually told the presenters on "Fox & Friends" that Birmingham was an hour-and-a-half drive to the north-east of London. Even though I think Fox News is heavily biased and a bit stupid, I still watch it!
They were telling their viewers the other night that "the roof of the double decker London bus was ripped open like a can of sardines" .They are just the pits at Fox.The news reader that was on last night looked like a barbie doll.

Sky have definately had the best coverage tonight, Hazel Westwood is still doing live updates. ITV have been, as discussed, pathetic, and the BBC must be suffering from having their staff evacuated. Normally they would have huge resources for a regional story, but all they seem to have is some grainy images and a reporter on the phone.
Which does beg the question of what "Business Continuity" plans the BBC have. Birmingham is one of the largest (second biggest) centre behind London, yet they've moved from Pebble Mill to a central location that was rather shown up last night...
EDIT 1432: it wouldn't have been so bad had the Mailbox not been evacuated, the BBC would have been ideally placed to report events. But with their own centre being so central that it's involved...
Why would they want to do this with Birmingham as they don't have Tony Blair or important people living there. It might be one of Britain's biggest cities but there's not much interesting things over there. I supose London was targeted cause TB, Govement and the Royals live there

London's the capital city, Birmingham is the second city they're two very good reasons in their own right. But of course terrorism can occur anywhere, there aren't any rules.

that's what eyewitnesses were saying as well
Yeah, that's true - that expression has been used across the board as this was one of the survivors said when he saw the bus explode.

If they wanted to get political leaders, they would not have targeted the transport system - terrorists are just intent on causing mass murders and/or as much damage as possible.
