That WM emergency tape ain't been updated for a bit, because they've just played a section of a Tony & Julie Late Show interviewing Reg Presley of the Troggs & they've left the station a few months ago !!

They have put rather more effort into it than the Radio Kent one however - which is just music with gaps in between and no imaging or interviews whatsoever.

I think it would have made more sense for BBC WM to have brought up Five Live on a fader rather than playing this...

Do WM have any other "significant" studios than the Mailbox - ie. somewhere where they can broadcast a full programme from?

Doesn't look like it!

Guess who's popped up now ?

Franksy interviewing the Y&L thread 'favourite person' , Dickie Bird & guess what.

He had a book out ! Laughing

Doesn't look like it! (What about Coventry? Isn't anyone there? Agree with you about 5 Live though!)

Presumably this "tape" (or more likely minidisc) is going to run out before half-eleven and start all over again..

Hmm. WM's Robert Beckford (sic?) who was on air from 8pm onwards has just been on Five Live and said he walked through the city for an hour then managed to hitch a lift, and will be home soon (and sounded pretty pleased about it).

So much for the chances of any more programmes on WM tonight telling people what's going on then...

I'm confused with this whole thing - especially why the BBC are just showing some badly created Map. Doesn't the BBC have some big fancy building in Birmingham with some big fancy studio's and a news department yet getting any sort of picture or video seems to be non-existant.

Unless the offices are in the 'evacuated' area - but even still surely they could get something out like Sky.

mailbox has been evacuated, as will central's studios, which are just off broad street.
