But then again it gives international viewers a British perspective. Why when an important event occurs in the USA CNN Intl gets CNN USA? It gives more in-depth, better, information from the perspective of country.

CNN International has been rebroadcasting an off-air feed of the ITV News Special. Interestingly, they aren't attempting to conceal the ITV News Graphics. They haven't even bothered to cover the clock and date!
Surely, a programme made by CNNi itself would be more suitable for an international audience than the ITV news special, which is clearly made for a British audience. Trevor even talked of 'the prime minister' (rather than 'the British prime minister').
The people at CNN London must be feeling a bit irritated and rejected.

On HTV Wales Trevor got cut off and then it went to a trailer for a regional programme and then to an ITV1 Wales ident with the Welsh announcer saying there was a change in the advertised programme.
So we have a news special tommorow morning from 9.25am - will this continue during the day and will we get regional bulletins tommorow?

Slightly different here in Granada. We did get Trevor cut off, but the ident lasted much longer with no Saturday night trial and announcer directing viewers towards the ITV News Channel for continued coverage through the night.

CNNi returned to Becky Anderson at 23.05. The contrast between the exaggarated, patriotic, tabloid style of ITV News and the cooler, more professional style of CNN was incredible.
I strongly disliked and actually felt sickened by ITV's coverage of today's events. Whereas the BBC, CNN, and Euronews covered this as just another (although very important) story, ITV News utterly exaggarated the story; even having the audacity to compare today's attack with 9/11. ITV news simply lacked perspective. Just over 50 people died and a few hundred were injured in this attack. Nearly 3,000 died as a result of the attacks on September 11, 2001. Thousands of people die every day because of poverty. Millions of people are sexually, physically and emotionally abused every day. Over 2 million animals are killed every day in the UK alone just so that some people can eat flesh. But ITV News and indeed the media in general don't go into a state of mourning for any of this, do they?
ITV news actually seemed to have the objective of scaring its viewers by using dramatic language and scary music, and changing the set's background to red. Even the desk became red.
Trevor said that we shouldn't allow this attack to change anything, yet the entire ITV News presentation set was altered because of this, in addition to its style of reporting.
Do others share this opinion?

Can I wish my deepest sorrow to those victims who lost their lives today in London, on 7/7. My deepest sympathy goes out to their grieving loved ones.

I certainly share a hatred of the need to add unnecessary subtitles to distressing events.
"TARGET LONDON".
What was that all about? Is it an order, an instruction? Is it even a proper sentence?
I'm not sure the rifle sight and the bright red background helped either.
And (note its the first time I've watched News at (Wh|T)en for ages) I really don't think this circular videowall works when it seems impossible for Trevor to look in the right direction when doing a 2-way.

God forbid that the Americans should find out that there is a world of TV outside their borders! After all no-one bothers about the CBS, ABC, Fox or NBC news we see here plugging programmes we can't see

Well the ending didn't go quite according to plan.
Trevor finished delivering a summing up monologue, then filled a bit as if they were running early by recaping the FTSE & Dow Jones figures from a bit of paper. He then said there was a News Special at 9.25 after GMTV (what American viewers thought of that I don't know) and there would be coverage all night on ITV News. He was then cut off!
