Tim Willcox has taken over on News 24 at 22:00, which should take things through to overnight.

There should be a good day's analysis ahead tomorrow. It must be a high pressure situation for news broadcasters - this is a massive news week. Live 8 / G8 / Olympics/ London Bombings. And its Africa week too, so they have people out there.

Trevor made a mention that it was being shown on CNN and to homes across America.

Trevor has just welcomed American viewers watching on CNN. I am surprised it is not being shown on MSNBC

CNN has a contract with ITN, they can use any ITN coverage, reports and programming.

Even though ITV News has a contract with NBC to use its coverage, I don't think it's vice-versa. I don't think I have seen MSNBC, NBC, or CNBC USA use ITN coverage before.

Channel 4 News special with Jon Snow next - replacing Zippy and George's Puppet Heroes. This is unusual for C4.

Seems Mother Nature might give the London terrorists' chums in Cuba a bit of a spanking - a Major, Dangerous Category 3 hurricane called Dennis is heading straight for Guantanamo Bay.......

CNN International has been rebroadcasting an off-air feed of the ITV News Special. Interestingly, they aren't attempting to conceal the ITV News Graphics. They haven't even bothered to cover the clock and date!

Surely, a programme made by CNNi itself would be more suitable for an international audience than the ITV news special, which is clearly made for a British audience. Trevor even talked of 'the prime minister' (rather than 'the British prime minister').

The people at CNN London must be feeling a bit irritated and rejected.

Well the ending didn't go quite according to plan.

Trevor finished delivering a summing up monologue, then filled a bit as if they were running early by recaping the FTSE & Dow Jones figures from a bit of paper. He then said there was a News Special at 9.25 after GMTV (what American viewers thought of that I don't know) and there would be coverage all night on ITV News. He was then cut off!

I wonder did CNN get clean out of that, or did they end up broadcasting the start of one of the ITV News Channel's adverts!

They cut straight away before the closing titles and crossed to their London studios and a lady presenter I can't remember the name of

Just as it was fading out, CNN International went to a split screen. With Becky Anderson in one window and ITV News in the other - then you seen a quick flash of an ad in that section of the screen. The it went back to CNN coverage.
