He might be still in Singapore after covering the Olympics
Sorry if this has already been reported, but BBC World have just been showing Panorama. It's on in our office in India, and it was very odd indeed to hear that familar theme tune!
A very sad and strange day today, followed the coverage across all channels all day and I have to say it's been excellent across the board.
Although I was first told not to come in to work, as it's walking distance away from me I was later told to come in and pick up the keys so I could open up tommorrow while everyone else tries to get in. Everyone left before 3pm to try and get home, no idea how some of them got back - they normally use the tube and all the buses were terminating nearby. Even though I'm quite a few miles from the attacks, it was a very strange atmosphere in the streets, very quiet aside from the air ambulances overhead, sirens now and again, and the occasional overheard conversation, like the war veteran saying "At least you knew when the Luftwaffe were coming!".
And apparently after all that happened we had customers complaining and yelling obsenities down the phone when they were told we were closed!
Scary to think that if I'd already started working in the new place I'll be in a few weeks, I'd have been in Liverpool Street when it was all happening. Although I'm sure this sort of thing won't happen, at least for some time, I don't know how I'll feel next time I get on the tube.
I can still hear loads of sirens going past my window.
EDIT: Noticed Chris Roberts, who was on air for most of the morning, is now back on Sky tonight.
and a central news special live from central south in abingdon with updates from birmingham. i guess many central south viewers work in london, hence the decision to present from abingdon. nice to see a rare glimpse of wesley and an un-generic itv set.

noticed in a (very well presented) central 7:30 program tonight, that they used central souths studio. Why have nottingham moved but not south? Are there plans too? (the studio wasn't generic)
