At least STV and BBC made it clear that good load of people agree with this. I have to agree with you, ( just like the minsters said) Higher power is now control of his life, and its not going to change, how can you so remorse if you never did it?. If we never did this? are we know better than the terrorist?

"Lockerbie getting freed"

That title suggests the town is being released

It should be "Lockerbie Bomber is freed"

Well done.

Well that's more likely because she was excited at the story unfolding rather than the actual cause. The Fox people were very likely giddy too at this point.

Ok.

At the other extreme, it seems Joanna Gosling can hardly contain her excitement about Megrahi landing in Libya Rolling Eyes He is a convicted terrorist you know, not an Olympic gold medalist...

I think it's great this bloke who I reckon is probably innocent is returning home and that we live in a system where such dignity can be given. But compassion and Chie aren't to words I associate with each other. Rolling Eyes

I didn't say anything about the case. I don't care one way or the other about this, personally.

You should care, but it's not the time and the place to discuss the rights and wrongs of situation.

It's absolutely disgusting that this man has been released on 'compassionate grounds' ... he didn't show any compassion to those people he killed on the plane and in Lockerbie.

That's if you believe he was responsible, the fact is lots of the families think he's innocent, that's innocent, it's not just think the conviction might be unsafe.

The evidence of his guilt was in fact overwhelming. I know this as a family member was invovlved in his trial at Camp Zeist.

Still we can never be sure that the media know the full ins and outs of the case, and what they can report. As many news channels are reporting we will never really know the real truth about Lockerbie.

You may have been told that - many would disagree.

And there's a larger issue afoot insofar as its widely believed that Westminster withheld information during the course of the trial that would have made a conviction unsafe, according to the jurisdiction of Scottish Law.

I don't think we've heard the last of the matter yet.

But - as he's been found guilty then I have to consider that to be the case until and unless more information comes to light.

Perhaps if people want to get into the nuts and bolts of it, they could move this part of the discussion to Metropol, and leave TV Forum to discuss the coverage.
