It's getting beyond a joke. In 5 minutes of a lunchtime bulletin this afternoon we had:
Charles and Camilla go to Deeside for their honeymoon - Grampian.
Money with-held from Lockerbie victims - Border.
And the third one was certainly a Grampian story.
The only central Scotland story involved the Scottish Cup.
If you're going to separate Scotland into regions, at least cover them properly. It's like Meridian taking all their stories from London Tonight.
At around 6.45 the ITV News went to the headlines, then local headlines - followed by Scotland Today with the ususal headline shot, but no presenter - Shereen then wandered in, but oblivious to the fact that she was on-air - she fiddled with some wires, before opting back into the network sting.
Not just those regions, Channel does the same thing. They covered the effect of the popes death in the Channel Isles. Ok I suppose. But then they do special reports on living in Australia, and things like that. Makes you wonder why.

Did anyone get this? If anyone has, could they upload it please?!
Well STV have finally gotten rid of lunchtime Scotland Today .
hallelujah. BTW scotland today only covers grampian stories as the show is called scotland today giving a balanced opinion on all of scotlands news issues
Don't see the point of having two presenters on the lunchtime optout now it's only about 15 mins long i wonder how long that will last for before STV realise they could axe a few of the presenters and save some money.
A few changes to Grampian News and North Tonight were introduced yesterday. The four blue boxes remain on screen most of the time, with the web address. New astons have been introduced in dark blue, with Grampian News and North Tonight REMOVED. They are very similar to those used on Scotland Today, but are on the right of the screen, instead of being centred. This will allow Scotland Today to use Grampian stories unedited.
The background colour has changed also to blue instead of mauve, during split screen interviews, and the four blue boxes are again used for the LIVE text during reports.

I'm not sure that would wash with OFCOM. If you're going to have a regional news programme for central Scotland which is an alternative to the national programme on BBC Scotland, then do it properly. On this basis it shouldn't even be called Scotland Today - if Central News wasn't taken that'd probably be ideal...
