Jon Sopel is trending 4th in UK!

And Jon will be off in Paris soon to cover Presidental elections there for BBC on Sunday. Busy man, and what a legend! Has really shown his talents for political broadcasting. It's a shame he doesn't have as much chance to show it.

So Boris has saved Call Me Dave's bacon partly? Who are these people who vote?
(Just as funny was the BNP coming third round by me, beating the Lib Dems!)

Tim spent the entire week over on BBC World. So it's only mildly surprising that he was in N6 to be part of Boris' re-election!

Agree with your comments about Jon Sopel. I feel he is really suited to Political matters and would have made an excellent Political Editor for the BBC.

Who won the Salford Mayoral Election?

Who won the Liverpool Mayoral Election?

To be fair I am sick of hearing about London's Mayoral Election - can't they just keep it to BBC London, rather than infecting the rest of the country with it?

Even Boris' speech was London this, London that and London the other - if we, outside London, have to put up with it, then we should have a vote in it!

Maybe they kept the Liverpool and Salford mayor coverage to Radios Merseyside and Manchester, and that's why you haven't heard the result. I'd be really surprised if in the 24 hours of election coverage on the BBC and Sky News that those two mayors weren't mentioned

As explained several times before, The London Mayor is the most powerfully directly elected politican in the UK, that's why it gets covered so much. Also there's nothing else going on at midnight, what else should they be putting out?
